Welcome to the Living Water Website!
A scribe once asked our Savior “Which is the first commandment of all?” and our Savior replied, “The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” (Mark 12:28-30)
Beloved, our Savior has commanded us, we must apply our heart and soul and mind with all of our strength in order to love our God and commune with Him, as He wills.
Your children cannot love what they do not know and they cannot know if there is no one to teach them. We have created the Living Water catechetical site in order to help you inspire and guide your children to apply themselves in the love of God.
This site will provide an ever-increasing amount of downloadable catechetical materials, both for use at home and to assist those parishes that may not have a curriculum to use for formal classes. There is also a Church School forum that offers help for inexperienced teachers and/or parents at home.
The site also provides ongoing adult Orthodox Christian education classes and resources with its own respective forum for discussion.
The title of the site was inspired by the Gospel passage when our Savior said to the Samaritan woman, “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give Me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.” (John 4:10)
With the Lord’s help, it is hoped these resources will help families in their quest to commune with our Savior and find that living water within.
